Things to See and Do
Great Links to Cancun (this link is a must)
There are so many things to do in and around Cancun we can't even begin to make a comprehensive listing. From the booming discos in the central hotel zone only 10 minutes away, to the bustling Mexican markets in downtown Cancun, to the many scattered ruins of the ancient Mayan empire, there is something for everyone. Here are some of our favorites.
Cancún by night is full of surprises and fun, no matter your taste or your age. Cancun
offers a large variety of restaurants in both, the hotel zone and the centre;
they spoil with a wide range of cooking styles and accompanying you with live
music. After dinner, you can enjoy a spectacle, such as the traditional Mexican
"Fiestas", national and foreign folk dances or the best artists of the
country in whose spectacles dominate humor and hearty laughs.
Another extraordinary experience is a night out on the sea. Indeed, various
cruises set sail at dusk and their variety show on board assure moments of
entire joy for the visitors. Cancún's discos are among the bests of the
country. Their shows son et lumičre (light and sound) at midnight are of the
latest technologies. Most of the discos offer modern music, some of them yet
play one particular type of music: modern Rock, Rock'n Roll from earlier decades
or an Afro-Indian rhythm from the Caribbean islands, such as Reggae, Cumbia and
Salsa.
Xcaret My personal favorite
XCARET, Nature's Sacred Paradise was, for more than ten centuries, one of the most important Mayan ceremonial centers and seaports. Today, it's an incredible eco-archaeological park where you can spend a marvelous day. Among the many attractions you'll find a one-of-a-kind Underground River, a unique Aquarium and a Dolphin site with a swimming program for an additional fee.

Pronounced "ish-poo ha" this wonderland of animals, birds, snorkeling, windsurfing, kayaking and diving in caves and cenotes (pools where underground fresh water channels emerge) is a short ride away from Cancun on the coast of the Mayan Riviera. A tour is available that includes all food, drink and activities at the park for US$59 per person.
The most spectacular Mayan ruins on the Yucatan peninsula. There are several tours available that include transportation, a guide, lunch and entrance fee into the ancient walled city.
A twenty minute boat ride from Cancun, this quiet island is where you will find the real Mexico and some of the best snorkeling in the world. A number of tours are available to this incredible escape from the hustle and bustle of central Cancun.
Jump in your own speedboat for two and follow a guide through tangled waterways. Check out this tour and many others for water sports lovers at Aquaworld.
You've never had a crazier night than you'll have at Dady Rock. More than just a bar or disco, Dady Rock is an evening of no holds barred fun for locals and tourists alike. At the beginning of the evening you'll be surprised to see the waiters jumping on the tables, but by the end of the evening you'll be up there too.
